HUSH The Conductor: How to Play the Coda and Calm Her

Last updated:

The Conductor waits in the stage area of Founders' Hall in HUSH Zombie Extraction. Bring a Coda Reel, clear the nearby infected, and use the held-note window to start the playback that calms her.

AT A GLANCE

Keep Coda Reel outside your secure case. During DEVELOPMENT, leave the yellow attack area before the second beat. When THE NOTE IS HELD appears, approach the black player in the yellow guard frame beside the stage, select Play the Coda, and hold F until the progress circle completes. Stay within reach and avoid being hit until FINAL CHORD. If THE NOTE ENDS says she fights again, survive until the next held-note window and repeat the interaction.

Prepare for Founders' Hall

Head to Founders' Hall on the eastern side of Overture Plaza, near Stage Door. The Conductor is in the stage area: look for white hair, round glasses, a black formal outfit, and a glowing baton. Use the Plaza map guide if you need help reaching the hall.

Before focusing on her:

  • Bring Coda Reel. You can find it in the Safe in Acoustics Annex's bookcase room beyond the Staff Card door, though it is not a guaranteed spawn. Follow the Coda Reel location guide for the room and container route.
  • Move the reel out of Secure and into your backpack. A reel in Veteran Pouch triggers “Take the reel out of your secure case first”; moving it to Military Rucksack allows playback. Make this transfer before approaching the player.
  • Clear the infected clustered around the stage. The long raised platform gives you elevation for shooting into the group. An AVK-62 is one workable choice, but it is not a required weapon.

Keep watching for surviving infected as you move along the platform's sides and around its ends. The raised position does not make you safe from nearby threats.

Move Before Development's Second Beat

Aim at The Conductor's legs as a combat approach while moving around the long stage barrier. Prioritize room to dodge over staying still to fire.

During the second-phase DEVELOPMENT warning, watch for the yellow shape marking the attack area. Move out before the second beat lands. Follow the sides of the long barrier and round either end to get clear of the marked ground.

A hit deals damage and can cause infection, so start moving as soon as the warning appears. If you need to recover from damage or bleeding, see the healing supplies guide.

Play the Coda During the Held Note

When THE NOTE IS HELD appears, The Conductor cannot be hurt. Use this window to reach the black Coda reel player inside a yellow guard frame, beside the long stage platform.

  1. Approach the player and select Play the Coda. If nearby remains crowd the interaction list, use the mouse wheel or H to select the player.
  2. Hold F until the circular progress completes. Starting the circle alone does not start playback; look for The Coda plays.
  3. Stay within reach of the player and avoid being hit while the Coda plays.
  4. Maintain playback until FINAL CHORD appears.

If playback stops or the window closes

Moving away interrupts playback and produces The Coda was interrupted / Stay within reach of the player. Return to the device.

If THE NOTE ENDS appears with “Nobody broke it. She fights again,” combat has resumed. Keep dodging, wait for the next THE NOTE IS HELD window, then select Play the Coda and complete the held interaction again. Stay beside the player through the finish instead of leaving as soon as playback starts.

Find the Third and Fourth Choir Relays

At a Choir relay, select Cut the relay — Choir relay and hold F until the circular progress finishes. Use the mouse wheel or H to switch targets when a door or nearby remains is selected.

Third relay: the white room beside the red stands

  1. Find the white room beside the red stands and near the lighting tower. Look for the green Duffel Bag beside its wooden door and the yellow diamond marker.
  2. Select Open Door and press F.
  3. At the open doorway, switch to Cut the relay — Choir relay and hold F through the full progress circle.

Fourth relay: the front audience aisle

  1. Leave by the end of the long stage barrier and pass through the side rooms.
  2. Enter the room with orange shelving and wooden crates. Approach the broken window facing the parking area.
  3. Select Clear glass and hold F to finish it. Then select Climb through and hold F separately.
  4. Follow the parked vehicles and the exterior wall to the second broken window. Complete Clear glass, then Climb through, to enter the audience aisle.
  5. Move between the front audience row and the red-and-yellow railing. Cycle past the remains' Search options, select the Choir relay, and hold F to finish cutting it.

The third completion displays RELAY CUT 3 OF 4 alongside 3 voices still sing. The fourth displays RELAY CUT 4 OF 4 and 0 voices still sing, and its Cut the relay option disappears. Relay cuts and remaining voices are separate counters; do not calculate the voice count by subtracting completed relays from four. The completion messages also indicate that the tempo drops.

For help with overlapping interaction prompts and window actions, use the PC controls guide.

Handle Shutters and Search After Final Chord

Opening a shutter during lockdown

A Security shutters lockdown lasts 45 seconds. You can wait out the lockdown or approach a shutter with Crank open Shutter available. Select it with the mouse wheel or H, then hold F to crank it open. Cranking makes a lot of noise, so waiting is the quieter choice if you can safely remain inside.

Search The Conductor after calming her

FINAL CHORD confirms success: The Conductor lowers her baton and becomes searchable.

  1. Approach her and select Search — The Conductor.
  2. Press F to open her loot in NEARBY.
  3. Transfer the items you want into your inventory before leaving; opening the loot panel does not collect them.

Possible finds include Gold MK5, Quiet Vest, R-15, Active, Roster, DISC 35, Founders, and valuables such as Gold Coins and Gold Watch. These are possible contents, not a guaranteed reward bundle. The Gold MK5 has a 9MM ammunition label; see the gold weapon routes for other places to pursue gold weapons.

Choose your exit using the Overture Plaza extraction requirements, including the separate conditions for Stage Door.
