HUSH Coda Reel: Acoustics Annex Location and Use

Coda Reel is a Legendary quest item used to play the Coda during The Conductor encounter. Getting it ready means finding the correct Safe in Acoustics Annex and keeping it accessible when you reach the player.

AT A GLANCE

Look for Coda Reel in the Safe inside Acoustics Annex's bookcase room, east of Vesper Lane around B4–B5 in western Overture Plaza. Bring a Staff Card with a remaining use to unlock the inner door. If the reel is present, take it; before playback, move it out of secure storage into ordinary carried storage. During THE NOTE IS HELD, hold F on Play the Coda at the player beside the stage in Founders' Hall.

Reach Acoustics Annex with a Staff Card

Bring a Staff Card with a remaining use. Acoustics Annex is in western Overture Plaza, just east of Vesper Lane, around B4–B5 on the Plaza Map.

Approach Acoustics Annex and press F to open the outer door.
Go to the locked inner door and its card reader.
Select Swipe card — Staff Card and hold F until UNLOCK completes.
Enter the room with the bookcases.

The Staff Card unlocks this room's inner door; it is not a separate key for the Safe inside.

If you need a Staff Card, security guards carrying flashlights and wearing security-style clothing in The Hollow can drop one, though each guard is not guaranteed to have it. See the Hollow keycard guide for card acquisition and uses, or the Overture Plaza map guide for navigation.

Search the Safe in the Bookcase Room

Search the Safe and find its SAFE loot list under NEARBY. If CODA REEL is present, drag it into a free backpack cell. Leave one cell available for its 1×1 footprint; the reel weighs 0.4 kg.

The CABINET is a separate container with its own loot list. FOUNDERS and TAP KEY can appear there, but the Coda Reel search target is the Safe. These items are possible finds, not guaranteed contents on every visit.

Move the Reel Out Before Playing the Coda

You can keep Coda Reel in Veteran Pouch while carrying it to protect it from loss on death. Before playback, drag it into ordinary carried storage, such as Military Rucksack. Leaving it in the pouch triggers “Take the reel out of your secure case first” and blocks use. Once moved out, it no longer has the pouch's death protection; see secure storage and death rules for what you keep.

At Founders' Hall, locate the black Coda reel player inside the yellow guard frame beside the long stage platform.

Wait for THE NOTE IS HELD during The Conductor encounter.
Select Play the Coda and hold F until the circular progress completes.
Look for The Coda plays, then stay within reach of the player and avoid being hit. Moving away interrupts playback.

Maintaining playback through FINAL CHORD calms The Conductor. Follow the Conductor encounter guide for the combat phases, positioning, and retry sequence if playback is interrupted.
