HUSH The Long Watch: All Four Requirements and Progress Tips

Last updated:

The Long Watch is a cumulative task in HUSH Zombie Extraction covering infected kills, extractions, and time spent in raids. Choose your next raid around the objectives you still need to finish.

AT A GLANCE

The Long Watch requires putting down 3,000 infected, extracting 50 times, extracting 10 times on Hard or Nightmare, and spending 20 hours in raids. Every minute inside a raid counts toward the time goal, whether you survive or die. For the difficulty-specific objective, Hard qualifies; Nightmare is optional.

Check cumulative infected kills in the map task panel or task tracker; putting down infected advances the counter. (The Long Watch infected objective.)

The Four Long Watch Objectives

These are cumulative objectives across raids. Track each counter separately so you can see which requirement still needs attention.

Open the map's task panel and select The Long Watch to read its objectives. You can also follow the infected-kill objective in the task tracker during a raid; putting down infected advances that counter. The task guide covers other named tasks and their location labels.

What Counts When a Raid Fails

Every minute spent inside a raid contributes to the 20-hour objective, whether you survive or die. You do not need to extract for that raid time to count.

A run that ends in death does not provide a successful extraction. Its time contribution therefore does not satisfy either extraction objective.

Keep aiming to leave alive: death still costs carried equipment and items outside your secure container. See what you keep after death for the protection rules.

Plan Progress Around Your Remaining Counters

Before deploying, check your unfinished objectives and choose a priority for the next raid.

What you still need Recommended approach
Infected kills Choose a difficulty where you can handle fights consistently. Take manageable engagements along your route and watch the kill tracker advance.
Successful extractions Use the difficulty you can reliably survive, including Normal. Prioritize reaching your exit over extending a risky fight or loot detour.
Hard or Nightmare extractions Select Hard if available, or Nightmare once unlocked. Make a successful extraction the main goal of the run.
Raid time Spend time in raids while working on other unfinished objectives. If only time remains, use a difficulty you can manage and continue aiming to extract.

Hard has more infected that move faster. That creates more combat pressure, so choose it when you can manage those encounters and still reach an exit. Nightmare is night-only and features fast bites; unlocking it requires completing Doc's Patient Zero task. Use the raid settings guide for deployment options and difficulty details.

Choose an exit whose requirements you can meet early in the raid, then plan your route toward it. On Stillwater, Highway Roadblock is marked Always open, making it a useful option when you want to avoid gathering exit supplies. Compare Stillwater extraction requirements or Overture Plaza exits for your chosen map.

If fights repeatedly prevent you from reaching the exit, shorten your combat detours and use the stealth and chase guide to help manage the route.
