USING THIS REFERENCE

Choose equipment for the job: stronger leg protection, more room for loot, lower item weight or quieter footsteps. Use the equipment reference for individual properties, then compare the practical tradeoffs below.

AT A GLANCE

Choose Riot Leg Guards for protection: 60% leg bite block and 35% leg protection at 2 kg. Canvas Work Pants are lighter at 0.9 kg, with 30% and 15%. Rifleman Rig offers 12 storage cells at 2.4 kg; Scrap Vest offers six at 1.4 kg. Jungle Combat Boots provide a −25% footstep noise modifier and occupy a separate Boots slot.

Armor and Equipment Reference

Compare rigs, leg armor, footwear, headwear, Muffs and Police Armor in the equipment directory. Read each value with its label:

  • Item weight is the equipment's own weight, not its carrying limit.
  • Storage capacity describes the cells available inside a rig. Stored item dimensions describe the space the equipment occupies inside another container.
  • Current durability describes the condition of an individual item. Courier Rig's 60% and Canvas Work Pants' 76% are item-condition readings, not fixed protection ratings.
  • Purchase prices are Scrapper GEAR shelf quotes. Check the current offer and stock before buying; sale values are separate and retain their item-specific conditions.

For purchasing steps and locked offers, use the Scrapper shop guide.

Leg Armor: Protection or Lower Weight

Choose Riot Leg Guards when leg protection is your priority. Choose Canvas Work Pants when you want lower item weight. Both use the Legs slot.

Equipment Leg bite block Leg protection Item weight Stored footprint
Riot Leg Guards 60% 35% 2 kg 2 × 3 cells
Canvas Work Pants 30% 15% 0.9 kg 2 × 2 cells

The guards offer higher values in both protection attributes, while the pants weigh less and take less space when packed. Keep leg bite block and leg protection separate when comparing them; they describe different attributes.

Look for Riot Leg Guards in Wardrobes. Canvas Work Pants have a Scrapper GEAR purchase quote of 1,035 Cash; check the current shelf before buying.

Equip Riot Leg Guards

  1. Hover over the guards to compare them with your equipped leg armor.
  2. Drag the guards from your inventory or a reachable container into Legs. Placing them in Boots produces a red rejection indicator.
  3. Check where the replaced pants went. They can move into your backpack, so account for them before leaving the container.

Legs and Boots are separate slots. You can wear Riot Leg Guards and Jungle Combat Boots together; removing your boots is not a prerequisite for replacing leg armor.

Riot Leg Guards equipped in Legs beside the separate Boots slot, with combat boots and replaced work pants in the backpack.

Rigs: Storage Space and Item Weight

Rifleman Rig is the stronger choice for loot capacity; Scrap Vest suits runs where six cells are enough and lower equipment weight matters.

Rig Internal storage Item weight Best reason to choose it
Rifleman Rig 12 cells, arranged 4 × 3 2.4 kg More room for supplies and loot
Scrap Vest 6 cells, arranged 3 × 2 1.4 kg Lower weight when a smaller grid is sufficient
Courier Rig Six small pockets in its description 0.9 kg Low item weight and 4% bite block

The six small pockets in Courier Rig's description are a pocket count, not a storage-grid measurement. Its 2 × 2 dimensions describe its packed footprint. Scrap Vest occupies 3 × 2 cells when stored and also provides a 3 × 2 internal grid—those are separate properties even though the dimensions match.

Rifleman Rig is acquired through looting; Wardrobes are search locations for Scrap Vest and Courier Rig. These are loot opportunities, not guaranteed contents.

Rifleman Rig and Scrap Vest equip in Body Armor, while their usable storage appears in the Rig area. When switching to the smaller vest, items that do not fit can remain inside the old rig. Check it before moving on; the inventory guide covers recovering retained items and checking your storage.

For a complete combination of storage, protection and supplies, see the quiet loot-run loadout guide.

Footwear, Headwear and Headsets

Jungle Combat Boots are a practical choice for quieter footsteps. They equip in Boots, weigh 1.6 kg, occupy 2 × 2 cells when packed and have a −25% footstep noise modifier. Pair them with quiet movement; the stealth guide explains noise management and responding to pursuit.

Other equipment has useful purchase or identification details:

  • Canvas High-Tops: light-colored canvas shoes with a Scrapper GEAR quote of 745 Cash.
  • MOTO: a dark motorcycle-style helmet with red accents, equipped in Headwear.
  • Miner's Helmet: a yellow helmet with a Scrapper GEAR quote of 2,880 Cash.
  • Muffs: yellow-and-black ear defenders that use Headset and can appear in Wardrobe loot.
  • Police Armor: a possible airdrop find. See raid events and airdrop loot for that acquisition opportunity.
