STILLWATER / FIELD GUIDE
HUSH Helicopter Event and Airdrop Loot
Last updated:
A helicopter overhead can change where infected move during a Stillwater raid. Read its notification, reassess your route, and keep airdrop equipment opportunities separate from your extraction plan.

The HUSH helicopter event draws infected along the helicopter’s flight path with rotor noise. The AIR TRAFFIC alert gives a current location cue so you can watch for movement near your route. Airdrops can provide backpacks and armor, including Police Armor, but the helicopter notification alone does not confirm an airdrop or signal that you can extract.
Read HELICOPTER OVER STILLWATER
Look for AIR TRAFFIC above the notification title HELICOPTER OVER STILLWATER. Its warning explains the event’s main effect: rotor noise draws infected along the helicopter’s flight path.
Use the location cue beneath the warning to orient yourself. A label such as near the Checkpoint and its distance describe the helicopter’s current position; they are not a fixed destination to follow.
Treat the alert as a reason to check nearby movement. It does not, by itself, tell you where to collect an airdrop or confirm an extraction opportunity. Check the extraction locations and requirements when planning your way out.
Recheck Your Route When Infected Move
Because the helicopter draws infected along its path, a route that looked clear can change. Reassess before committing to your next crossing:
- Read the alert’s current location cue and look for nearby infected changing direction.
- Compare their movement with the path to your next building or exit. Use the Stillwater map if you need to check your destination.
- Continue if the path looks clear, or wait or reroute if infected are moving into it.
A passing helicopter does not guarantee a safe corridor. Base your decision on where infected actually move, and keep managing your own noise. If they begin following you, use the stealth and chase guide for your next move.
What Airdrops Can Offer
Airdrops can provide backpacks and armor, making them an equipment opportunity during a raid. Police Armor is one possible armor pickup, not a guaranteed reward from every drop.
Consider what your loadout needs: carrying space makes a backpack useful, while protective gear may fill an equipment gap. Compare backpack sizes and armor and rig options when deciding what to keep. For ordinary container searching and collecting supplies, follow the looting guide.
